Auf der Internationalen Grünen Woche 2020 habe ich in diesem Jahr sehr viel Zeit in der HALLE 8.2 verbracht – insbesondere am Messestand Finnlands. Gründe hierfür waren – neben dem Wunsch mehr über das nördlichste Land der EU in Erfahrung zu bringen und einen neuen Beitrag zu „Triff den Chefkoch“ (Teemu Kaijanen) zu verfassen – vor allem die entspannte Atmosphäre und die vielen natürlichen Produkte dort.

Auf der Grünen Woche ist ja im Grunde immer „der Teufel los“, wobei ich finde, dass es beim Ansturm der vielen Besucher von Jahr zu Jahr schwieriger wird die dargebotene Vielfalt entspannt zu erkunden.

Da war es umso angenehmer, dass die Atmosphäre am und um den Stand Finnlands so relaxt war. Selbst als die Halle proper gefüllt war, waren die Finnen stets gut gelaunt und das hat natürlich zum Wohlfühlfaktor der Besucher beigetragen. Hier konnte man sich aus dem Trubel der Messe & Massen lösen und Kraft für die nächsten paar Kilometer Fußweges sammeln.

Neben den Musikprogramm, welches ab und an stattfand, gab es eine Vielzahl an außergewöhnlichen und schmackhaften kulinarischem Highlights zu bestaunen und natürlich auch zu probieren. Dabei fiel insbesondere auf, dass die Preise und Mengen für die angebotenen Leckereien und Getränke bei den finnischen Ständen im Vergleich zu anderen Nationen & Hallen mehr als fair waren.

Das ich die Chance nutzen würde am finnischen Stand, den über die Grenzen Finnlands hinaus bekannten Chefkoch Teemu Kaijanen zu treffen, verstand sich von selbst. Jeder der die Gerichte probiert hat, die aus Teemu`s Feder stammten konnte nur staunen – eine einfache und doch so überzeugend schmackhafte Küche findet man selten.

Dazu kam natürlich noch die offene und freundliche Art Teemus, weshalb es mir doppelten Spaß gemacht hat über ihn zu schreiben. Schaut ruhig mal in den Beitrag – dort gehe ich noch etwas näher auf die Leckereien ein die Teemu für die Messe gekocht hat.

Ich habe Euch ein paar „Steckbriefe“ zu den finnischen Produkten & Produzenten angefertigt – schaut mal rein, das Eine oder Andere ist sicher interessant für Euch. Einiges gibt es natürlich schon in deutschen Supermärkten – Manches aber auch noch nicht…

This year at the International Green Week 2020 I spent a lot of time in HALL 8.2 – especially at the Finnish stand. Reasons for this – besides the wish to learn more about the northernmost country of the EU and to write a new article on „Meet the Chef“ (Teemu Kaijanen) – were mainly the relaxed atmosphere and the many natural products there.

There is always „all hell breaking loose“ at the Green Week, although I think that with the large number of visitors every year it is becoming more difficult to explore the variety on offer in a relaxed manner.

So it was all the more pleasant that the atmosphere at and around the Finnish stand was so relaxed. Even when the hall was properly filled, the Finns were always in a good mood and this of course contributed to the feel-good factor of the visitors. Here one could get away from the hustle and bustle of the fair & masses and gather strength for the next few kilometres of walking.

Besides the music program, which took place from time to time, there was a variety of extraordinary and tasty culinary highlights to marvel at and of course to taste. It was especially noticeable that the prices and quantities for the offered delicacies and drinks at the Finnish stands were more than fair compared to other nations & halls.

That I would take the chance to meet the chef Teemu Kaijanen, who is well known beyond the borders of Finland, at the Finnish stand was self-evident. Everybody who tried the dishes that were created by Teemu could only be astonished – a simple and yet so convincingly tasty cuisine is rarely found.

On top of that, of course, there was the open and friendly nature of Teemu, which is why I enjoyed writing about him twice as much. Have a look at the article – there I will go a little closer to the delicacies Teemu cooked for the fair.
