Brooklyn Burger Bar

On Tuesday, February the 2nd we were in the Brooklyn Burger Bar at the old fish market.

Reservation

You can reserve slots at the Brooklyn Burger Bar in Hamburg.

You can choose between SLOT 1: 6 PM -8 PM or SLOT 2: 8:15 PM until open end.

We had reserved the first slot from 6 PM – 8 PM.

We strongly advise you to make a reservation.

Ambience

The restaurant is small, cosy and furnished with a lot of love.

In the background Soul was running at a moderate volume so that we could talk at any time.

Food

We have ordered the Burger of the Month and a Baykyard BBQ, Home fries with BBQ Sauce and Padron’s Pimientos, an Alster and a Lemon Basil Lemonade – all homemade except for the Alster.

The Patty is served in the Brooklyn Burger Bar pink, i.e. medium. When ordering, however, we were asked whether we would like to have a different cooking degree.

The food came very quick and “befitting our status” hot – just everything fresh from the kitchen!

The appearance of the burgers were very appealing – at the next visit we might hand in some more pictures.

The extra dips are in any case too expensive – but many other suppliers also make this mistake.

The burger of the month motto “Ibiza”

The burger Ibiza came with delicious olive paste on the patty, some chorizo and manchego cheese slices, peeled and roasted peppers as well as tomato and many other – delicious “green stuff”.

Watch out, who can enjoy such a burger without cutlery – chapeau – we definitely needed our cutlery.

One has clearly seen, felt and tasted that almost everything is homemade. The portions of the served side dishes are worth mentioning – not getting full here is certainly difficult.

We had felt 30 Pimientos de Padron in the enamel bowl – sensational!

The homemade lemon and basil lemonade was the super, I drank two of them, my companion ordered a lemonade after the first Alster, although the drink is quite expensive.

Service

The waitresses were great. Always friendly and flexible.

The only thing that really bothered us were the dented aluminium utensils on which the burgers were supposedly handed “in proper style”. There was a sheet of paper on each one (as with the well-known burger restaurants) – but that didn’t really inspire the dosage form either.

To divide and consume one’s burger on such a wobbly – because extremely dented – tray with a paper base reduces the culinary pleasure considerably – there is definitely a need for optimization here.

It remains to be seen whether Brooklyn Burger is committed to the vintage style when it comes to the bowls for the side dishes – in any case, the bowls had already seen their best years – it is time to be replaced them.

Conclusion

For each of the burgers loves a clear recommendation for the Brooklyn Burger Bar. In particular, the fact that fresh Patties are used and therefore different cooking degrees are possible, would be reason enough for a visit.
