It is the 20th of September 2017 and once again a gourmet evening at Struve. Another year has passed and the anticipation was already great – what shall I say the patience was rewarded as always.

Thank God I had the opportunity to take a few quick snapshots in advance – as every year -of the lovingly designed gourmet buffets a few minutes before the inception.

This time the rush was immense and everyone who got a ticket for the Schlemmerabend was lucky to be present at this culinary highlight.

As always, the Struve team was highly motivated and, despite having already completed the day shift, they were looking forward to spending two hours together with their customers.

Right at the entrance there was fantastic Sushi – this time under the motto “Wiesn-Sushi” – with a lot of love for detail and a large portion of professionalism, the ladies and gentlemen of the in-house “Sushi Producer” had produced a tasty firework.

Directly opposite, the meat lover could be pampered with a delicious roast pork on cabbage salad.

Again, many small booths of different manufacturers had been built. Here one could try a lot of new but also familiar things from the most different Horsd’œuvre, over pizza corners, salmon & shrimps, raclette of the blue cheese up to pastries and biscuits.

Of course, there were also a lot of wines, craft beers as well as pale ale to taste in addition to different kinds of rum.

I especially would like to mention the ladies and gentlemen of the meat & sausage counter. It’s amazing how many little treats were conjured up here again this year – very down-to-earth – and despite everything very special.

Oh yes, and also the ladies who – like every year – conjure up shrimps for the visitors in the area of the freezers – a big compliment for the successful service in spite of the big rush – and also so delicious!

All in all a successful event again. Many thanks to the Struve family and the many hard-working employees without whom such an event would not have been possible.

On 11.10.2017 the Schlemmerabend will take place in Rahlstedt (20:00 – 22:00) and on 08.11.2017 in Eidelstedt (20:00 – 23:00)!

Another great series event is Struves Music & the City (always from 20:00 – 23:00) at the Hummerstand in Hanse Viertel (Große Bleichen / Poststraße 33, 20354 Hamburg). There will be a DJ and you are invited to dance.
