On September 16th we spontaneously visited EDEKA in Hamburg Bramfeld – spontaneously because we had only gotten knowledge of the event the day before. So, gourmet evening was the topic – and yes, it turned out to be a great feast.
The EDEKA team had done a great job and redesigned the entire market so that the 400 guests (tickets were limited) felt more than comfortable. The attention to detail was always present and the displays and buffets were a visual and culinary feast. From hearty to sweet and hot to ice-cold – here the physical well-being was taken care of.
The meat counter invited to sandwiches, there was fresh boiled ham as well as smoked ham, salami and mince. Twenty steps further on, you suddenly standing in the middle of a Sushi & Sashimi offer that was second to none. Then right across the street there was an almost unmanageable number of trays with small sweets such as chocolates.
The mood was accordingly more than happy, which was partly due to the serving of alcoholic drinks – but mainly due to the feel-good factor of this happening. It was interesting to see so many different, as well as relaxed “customers” in a supermarket at the same time – during the day we experience most of this a little bit differently.
In the fruit area there were juices served and here and there were wraps & little bites. The most different producers had divided small niches between the aisles. Here you could taste all products (beers, juices, beers, wines, dairy products, lemonades, etc.) as you like.
It didn’t take long and one had to economize with the remaining resources – maybe “one should have planned the order better before the cold beer…or the pudding first…or something completely different….?
Around 22:00 o’clock the gourmet evening ended and one thing was for sure – next year we will be there again.
