The cuisine of the VIE Hotel enjoys an excellent reputation – thanks in no small part to Chef Supat – the small but delicious breakfast there is legendary. In the course of the modernization of the VIE Hotel, the restaurant has been redesigned along with most of the rooms and now shines in a new, much brighter look.
For many years now, chefs of distinction, names and stars have been coming to the VIE to set new highlights and pass on their knowledge. This is another reason why this hotel is known far beyond the borders of Bangkok and a magnet for all those who love the culinary arts.
Thanks to the calm and level-headed nature of Chef Supat, he has become a haven of peace behind the hectic culinary hustle and bustle of the VIE Hotel. Contrary to most Thai chefs, he believes that mistakes must be made – in his opinion, a sustainable learning curve is not possible without mistakes. He is a good teacher and is happy to pass on his knowledge to the younger generation, which he always motivates to set new goals and gain international experience.
I had the great luck to experience in a relaxed atmosphere when Chef Supat is at his best.
During a private jam-cooking session and under difficult conditions – we only had the small kitchenette of a hotel apartment with two ceramic hobs – he managed to serve a menu, which was convincing.

Of course, Chef Supat also got plenty of black garlic – but unfortunately, we didn’t find a free minute to cook together…maybe next time.
