SCOTLAND HILLS

The premium beef of the brand SCOTLAND HILLS carries the label “Scotch Beef” and is produced according to high standards. On the one hand, the farms are regularly inspected by the Scottish animal welfare organisation SPCA on a voluntary basis and in unannounced spot checks. Thus, ethical breeding and rearing has been guaranteed in Scotland for many years – farms that violate the guidelines can be closed down without further ado. Secondly, the quality of all meat products is checked by Quality Meat Scotland. Continue reading SCOTLAND HILLS

Albert Rauch In-House Exhibition

At the beginning I have to admit it right away – I am a true meat lover. Basically, I love almost every kind of meat, whether beef, pork, lamb, game, poultry or even fish – everything has its charm for me. Continue reading Albert Rauch In-House Exhibition

MERANO bacon (Speck)

South Tyrol has been a reliable source of excellent bacon and sausage products for centuries, which is why many professionals in the field of bacon and ham production come from this part of Italy. Especially the ideal air conditions there have always been a guarantee for the optimal maturing of air-dried meat & sausage products. Continue reading MERANO bacon (Speck)

FRUIT LOGISTICA 2022

On Wednesday, February 6, 2022, it was once again time for a long time, the FRUIT-LOGISTICA had opened its doors the day before and I had the time to drop by – even if only briefly. Noticeably more streamlined than in 2018, it was clearly to note that many exhibitors of recent years had not yet taken the courage to be on site.

The Cracking Monkey – a MUST for nut lovers

The Pili nut – what a nut & vegan at the same time. In addition to the absolutely great way of presentation and packaging in chic cotton bags – printed on a soy basis – the Cracking Monkey, originating in the Philippines, captivates especially with its haptic experience & ecological thought. FRUIT LOGISTICA Berlin

The FRUIT LOGISTICA in Berlin becomes a fruitful affair every year.

FRUIT LOGISTICA is all about fruit, vegetables, transport logistics and innovation. There is an almost infinite variety of domestic & tropical fruits and the few days that this fair opens its doors are often hardly enough to have tasted all the delicacies. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA Berlin

JYMY @BIOFACH

At BIOFACH 2020 it finally happened – after tasting the JYMY “anniversary variety” pine at the International Green Week 2020, I was able to try most of the varieties of this extraordinary organic ice cream – which I had only known from the website until then – live. Of course, I didn’t miss this opportunity and made my way to the Finnish “Corner” already on the first day of the fair. Continue reading JYMY @BIOFACH

TOMRA – Easy Sorting

At some of the trade fairs I have already visited this year, there were topics that at first glance only slightly touch on the culinary aspect, but which are nevertheless important from my point of view.

At the International Green Week 2020, for example, I have already seen many producers of new types of packaging, compostable crockery and humidification systems for the retail trade, in addition to exhibitors for food and drink. Continue reading TOMRA – Easy Sorting

WINEfair berlin 2017

At the invitation of the Aachen wine dealer Aix Vinum, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at the WINEfair berlin 2017. A fair completely to our liking – in contrast to many other fairs nowadays, we were offered all kinds of opportunities to gather our own culinary experience without having to order wise wines at once – which in our opinion should also be the appropriate credo of an end consumer fair. Continue reading WINEfair berlin 2017

Vavesaaren Tila

At the BIOFACH 2020 in Nürnberg I had the pleasure to meet Taina Laitinen – one can justifiably claim that she is a luminary in the field of “sweets”.

With the fruity products of Vavesaaren Tila, the Finnish Vavesaari Estate Oy from Hartola mainly produces sweet delicatessen products based on berries – only wild berries are “put into the pot” here. Continue reading Vavesaaren Tila

Arctic Sparkle

Arctic Sparkle is a non-alcoholic sparkling wine product of the family business Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi (Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi Oy) based on Finnish cloudberries. WINEfair berlin 2020

As I had just returned from BIOFACH in Nuremberg for the weekend, I unfortunately did not manage to visit the WEINmesse berlin 2020 on the first day of the event. On Saturday, however, the time had come and I made my way to the Messe Berlin – the entrance to the WEINmesse berlin this time was at Hall 21 in the Masurenallee. Continue reading WINEfair berlin 2020

Finland

This year at the International Green Week 2020 I spent a lot of time in HALL 8.2 – especially at the Finnish stand. Reasons for this – besides the wish to learn more about the northernmost country of the EU and to write a new article on “Meet the Chef” (Teemu Kaijanen) – were mainly the relaxed atmosphere and the many natural products there. Continue reading Finland

Flower Hall Reception

After the big opening event I didn’t feel like rushing to the Croatia Hall with several thousand other guests. I wanted to get some fresh air first, so I decided on the traditional flower hall reception in Hall 9 – a constant highlight of the International Green Week, always organised by the Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V. Continue reading Flower Hall Reception
