Green Week 2026

Congratulations on your anniversary!

This year’s International Green Week Berlin is celebrating its birthday—its 100th, in fact—which we took as an opportunity to do some extensive research into the history, significance, and transformations of this internationally popular event, in addition to our usual trade fair roundup.

International Green Week 2025

Year after year – including in 2025 – Green Week once again drew us into the halls of Messe Berlin. As always, there was plenty to see: much that was familiar, but also quite a bit that was new, surprising, and this year, seemingly an incredible abundance of sweets. Continue reading International Green Week 2025

Rose petal jam

Matti and Tuuli Kotaja from the Finnish family business Finnish Plant FP-Kotaja Oy, founded in 1983, are real enthusiasts – with their high-quality rose petal confiture they have a unique delicacy on the market. It is particularly likeable and impressive that Matti’s family has been active in agriculture since the 16th century – he has always had his profession in his genes. Continue reading Rose petal jam

International Green Week 2024

The 2024 International Green Week was once again truly refreshing—say what you will, but taking your first breaths in the newly laid-out flower halls of Green Week is always a “coming home” moment.

Vavesaaren Tila

At the BIOFACH 2020 in Nürnberg I had the pleasure to meet Taina Laitinen – one can justifiably claim that she is a luminary in the field of “sweets”.

With the fruity products of Vavesaaren Tila, the Finnish Vavesaari Estate Oy from Hartola mainly produces sweet delicatessen products based on berries – only wild berries are “put into the pot” here. Continue reading Vavesaaren Tila

BIOPark Markt

The meat of the German marketing company BIOPark Markt GmbH from Malchin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was founded in 1994, has no equal. The meat offered for tasting at BIOFACH 2020 was of the finest quality. The first impression alone when looking into the – let’s call them “showcases” – was promising. The “gems” were already visually appealing and for anyone who has dealt with meat to a limited extent, the BIOPark Markt GmbH booth exerted a special attraction. Continue reading BIOPark Markt

Finland

This year at the International Green Week 2020 I spent a lot of time in HALL 8.2 – especially at the Finnish stand. Reasons for this – besides the wish to learn more about the northernmost country of the EU and to write a new article on “Meet the Chef” (Teemu Kaijanen) – were mainly the relaxed atmosphere and the many natural products there. Opening Event

The City Cube – Hall B is an ideal venue for the number of participants expected at the opening event of the International Green Week 2020.

A really very attractive, modern and, above all, huge event location in which, in addition to the large main stage, three screens were “stretched out” that were unparalleled. This ensured for all parts of the event that everyone could see what was happening on stage, even in the back row. Continue reading Opening Event

BIO Reception of the BÖLW

The BIO Reception of the BÖLW – Bund Ökologischer Lebensmittelwirtschaft (Association of Organic Food Industry) – based in Berlin was a special highlight of the International Green Week 2020 Berlin, not only from a culinary point of view. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the BÖLW press officer, Ms Joyce Moewius, for allowing me to take part in this great event. Continue reading BIO Reception of the BÖLW
