Jams with Tonka Bean and/or Tahitian Vanilla and Terpenes
It doesn’t happen very often that we make jam – but once a year, when our grapes are ripe, the time has come.
In my introductory post for Mary Jane 2025, I already got you tuned into terpenes and their use in flavoring food and beverages. Now, I want to dive deeper into my motivation behind this topic. Continue reading Why Terpenes?
Anticipation for this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA was high – perhaps a little too high, because expectations need to be met, and this time Friday was certainly not our best choice of day to attend. But more on that later.

As every year, fruit enthusiasts gathered once again in the halls of Messe Berlin in 2024. Naturally, the Foodadvisorblog team also undertook the “arduous” journey to the German capital to report back to you. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024
At the FRUIT LOGISTICA there were all sorts of suppliers of papaya and every variety had its advantages. I had the chance to try papayas from every corner of the world. Very tasty papayas came for example from Brazil, they were quite big, nice to look at, not too firm and sweet as sugar. Continue reading HLB: Papaya at its best – Organic from America

Expectations for FRUIT LOGISTICA 2023 were high and we wondered whether the motto “All in ONE” could make it the same as it once was before the pandemic.

On Wednesday, February 6, 2022, it was once again time for a long time, the FRUIT-LOGISTICA had opened its doors the day before and I had the time to drop by – even if only briefly. Noticeably more streamlined than in 2018, it was clearly to note that many exhibitors of recent years had not yet taken the courage to be on site.
The FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award is an exciting event every year – companies are nominated here that offer innovative products in the international fruit and vegetable sector. Continue reading Innovation Award 2020
The Pili nut – what a nut & vegan at the same time. In addition to the absolutely great way of presentation and packaging in chic cotton bags – printed on a soy basis – the Cracking Monkey, originating in the Philippines, captivates especially with its haptic experience & ecological thought. Continue reading The Cracking Monkey – a MUST for nut lovers
The FRUIT LOGISTICA in Berlin becomes a fruitful affair every year.
FRUIT LOGISTICA is all about fruit, vegetables, transport logistics and innovation. There is an almost infinite variety of domestic & tropical fruits and the few days that this fair opens its doors are often hardly enough to have tasted all the delicacies. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA Berlin
At the invitation of the Aachen wine dealer Aix Vinum, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at the WINEfair berlin 2017. A fair completely to our liking – in contrast to many other fairs nowadays, we were offered all kinds of opportunities to gather our own culinary experience without having to order wise wines at once – which in our opinion should also be the appropriate credo of an end consumer fair. Continue reading WINEfair berlin 2017
Arctic Sparkle is a non-alcoholic sparkling wine product of the family business Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi (Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi Oy) based on Finnish cloudberries. The small but fine company was founded in 2004 and since then has been producing a variety of products. What all products have in common is that the raw materials used in their production come from Finnish nature. Continue reading Arctic Sparkle
As I had just returned from BIOFACH in Nuremberg for the weekend, I unfortunately did not manage to visit the WEINmesse berlin 2020 on the first day of the event. On Saturday, however, the time had come and I made my way to the Messe Berlin – the entrance to the WEINmesse berlin this time was at Hall 21 in the Masurenallee. Continue reading WINEfair berlin 2020
This year at the International Green Week 2020 I spent a lot of time in HALL 8.2 – especially at the Finnish stand. Reasons for this – besides the wish to learn more about the northernmost country of the EU and to write a new article on “Meet the Chef” (Teemu Kaijanen) – were mainly the relaxed atmosphere and the many natural products there. Continue reading Finland
Since Wednesday 5 February 2020, FRUIT-LOGISTICA has opened its doors again and, as every year, there is plenty of delicious fruit and innovations from all over the world to be admired. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA 2020
The anticipation for FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018 was great and, as last year, the exhibition was convincing across the board. Especially with the winter temperatures in Germany, the variety of exotic & sun-ripened fruits lifted the spirits of all visitors and the fair quickly made them forget the winter temperatures. The number of exhibitors is breathtaking every time, you hardly manage to see everything – even if you are there every day of the fair. Despite everything you can always find fruits & vegetables that you didn’t know or that were already forgotten. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018
The FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018 Innovation Award – Nominations
The candidates nominated for this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award came up with smart solutions. The range of products included biological pest control for domestic use, packaging with a remarkable eco-balance and culinary delights from faraway Asia. Continue reading Innovation Award 2018
If you love pears, you are sure to become a fan of Snow White Pear from Chinese producer Qingdao O’natur.
Due to its size (200 – 500g/each) this wonderful fruit offers the necessary “more” pleasure. It is well suited as a vitamin supplier at events, because this pear does not turn brown as quickly when peeled as its European relatives. Continue reading Snow White Pear – a “pear“ that offers more
