La Famiglia

La Famiglia in Hamburg’s St. Georg district is a constant address for authentic Italian food in the Hanseatic city. As soon as you enter the small restaurant you have arrived in Italy. The charm of the premises corresponds to that of Italian pizzerias as we know them from the seventies. Especially the walls are plastered in a very memorable way and the decoration is based on pictures of the family or long-gone times. Continue reading La Famiglia

BIOPark Markt

The meat of the German marketing company BIOPark Markt GmbH from Malchin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was founded in 1994, has no equal. The meat offered for tasting at BIOFACH 2020 was of the finest quality. The first impression alone when looking into the – let’s call them “showcases” – was promising. The “gems” were already visually appealing and for anyone who has dealt with meat to a limited extent, the BIOPark Markt GmbH booth exerted a special attraction. Continue reading BIOPark Markt

Short Rib Session

I’ve loved ribs since my earliest childhood – although it was mostly pork ribs – especially when they came from the grill. Differently than with the ribs of the cattle, there were then rather times braised by my granny… Continue reading Short Rib Session

Arctic Sparkle is a non-alcoholic sparkling wine product of the family business Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi (Saimaan Marjamarkkinointi Oy) based on Finnish cloudberries. The small but fine company was founded in 2004 and since then has been producing a variety of products. WINEfair berlin 2020

As I had just returned from BIOFACH in Nuremberg for the weekend, I unfortunately did not manage to visit the WEINmesse berlin 2020 on the first day of the event. On Saturday, however, the time had come and I made my way to the Messe Berlin – the entrance to the WEINmesse berlin this time was at Hall 21 in the Masurenallee. Finland

This year at the International Green Week 2020 I spent a lot of time in HALL 8.2 – especially at the Finnish stand. Reasons for this – besides the wish to learn more about the northernmost country of the EU and to write a new article on “Meet the Chef” (Teemu Kaijanen) – were mainly the relaxed atmosphere and the many natural products there. Continue reading Finland

Flower Hall Reception

After the big opening event I didn’t feel like rushing to the Croatia Hall with several thousand other guests. I wanted to get some fresh air first, so I decided on the traditional flower hall reception in Hall 9 – a constant highlight of the International Green Week, always organised by the Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V. Continue reading Flower Hall Reception

Opening Event

The City Cube – Hall B is an ideal venue for the number of participants expected at the opening event of the International Green Week 2020.

A really very attractive, modern and, above all, huge event location in which, in addition to the large main stage, three screens were “stretched out” that were unparalleled. This ensured for all parts of the event that everyone could see what was happening on stage, even in the back row. Continue reading Opening Event

BIO Reception of the BÖLW

The BIO Reception of the BÖLW – Bund Ökologischer Lebensmittelwirtschaft (Association of Organic Food Industry) – based in Berlin was a special highlight of the International Green Week 2020 Berlin, not only from a culinary point of view. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the BÖLW press officer, Ms Joyce Moewius, for allowing me to take part in this great event. Continue reading BIO Reception of the BÖLW

FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018

The anticipation for FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018 was great and, as last year, the exhibition was convincing across the board. Especially with the winter temperatures in Germany, the variety of exotic & sun-ripened fruits lifted the spirits of all visitors and the fair quickly made them forget the winter temperatures. The number of exhibitors is breathtaking every time, you hardly manage to see everything – even if you are there every day of the fair. Despite everything you can always find fruits & vegetables that you didn’t know or that were already forgotten. Continue reading FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018

The FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018 Innovation Award – Nominations

The candidates nominated for this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award came up with smart solutions. The range of products included biological pest control for domestic use, packaging with a remarkable eco-balance and culinary delights from faraway Asia. Continue reading Innovation Award 2018

Snow White Pear – a “pear“ that offers more

If you love pears, you are sure to become a fan of Snow White Pear from Chinese producer Qingdao O’natur.

Due to its size (200 – 500g/each) this wonderful fruit offers the necessary “more” pleasure. It is well suited as a vitamin supplier at events, because this pear does not turn brown as quickly when peeled as its European relatives. Continue reading Snow White Pear – a “pear“ that offers more

Gourmet Evening the Second

On September 26th, EDEKA Struve once again invited us to its Bramfeld branch for another gourmet evening. This time the own share frauded fifteen Euro, whereby five Euro could be used as a voucher for the next purchase. For ten euros so “all you can try”, aka “what your heart desires”. This time the Struve team has again surpassed itself to create a culinary playground… Continue reading Gourmet Evening the Second
