The Cracking Monkey – a MUST for nut lovers

The Pili nut – what a nut & vegan at the same time. In addition to the absolutely great way of presentation and packaging in chic cotton bags – printed on a soy basis – the Cracking Monkey, originating in the Philippines, captivates especially with its haptic experience & ecological thought.

The nut can be easily opened with a stainless-steel lever, which is made of recycled cutlery, on the flanks which have already been notched in advance. It is pleasantly soft to the bite and has a mild aroma. It also contains a “good portion” of vitamins E, A and C as well as calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron. Not to mention dietary fibres, amino acids and proteins – a very healthy “nut”.

The nut is also suitable for obtaining a nut milk – especially interesting for the vegans among you – and can also be used in bread spreads.

This ecological and innovative product is distributed by Frischebox GmbH in Rheinstetten and was certainly a hot candidate for the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award 2017. According to the manufacturer, the nut is completely free of harmful substances or chemicals.

To substantiate this, the Cracking Monkey product website even features a report from the Dutch testing laboratory NofaLab. In addition, the distributor, Frischebox GmbH, assures that no genetic manipulations took place in connection with the product.

You can buy the nuts from 300g up to 5kg bags, the latter size is especially suitable as a gimmick for chic parties and other in-events. Healthy, ecological & hype, what more could you want?

The Cracking Monkey nuts were definitely one of the most popular eye-catchers at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2017. We also enjoyed the nut very much, but above all we were fascinated by the sustainable idea of recycling old cutlery.

We hope that this approach will set a precedent.
